5 of our two year olds made their debut during the spring with a record of 1 win, 3 places, and 1 show. Very impressive!
Unless mentioned below, all two year olds are still at the farm. For the most part they are enjoying their youth with lots of time in the pasture. The hot walkers are used a lot for fitness and strength, and they are also ponied out on the trails for both a change of scenery and to toughen them up! They are saddled and bridled and handled every day to ensure that their training stays perfectly intact. Every two weeks or so they are all ridden around the training track and breezed as their trainer permits. The babies love the races!
Road to Calvary is the only 2-year-old making his debut in the fall. Just this morning he shipped out from the farm all the way to Zia Park to join Dawn Strike and Cosette. He will have one work between now and his start on October 14th, but he has been in good training at home and is well prepared. His very first start will be in the Governer's Cup, a 6 furlong dirt race and he is expected to do very well.
My Precious Treasure still has several stakes races this year. On Aug. 30 she ran in the Solario Stakes at Sandown, a Grade 3, 7 furlong race. Just a week later on September 7th, she tore up the field in the Grade 3 Prix la Rochette, a 7 furlong race at Longchamp. Winning both of those, she is now pointed for the Preis des Winterfavoriten at Cologne in Germany!
